School garden grants

The Mayor of London has announced a £42,000 funding pot that will allow schools in Lambeth and Croydon to grow their own food as part of an initiative to tackle obesity in the capital and get young Londoners eating more healthily. The scheme will consider requests ranging from tools to training, equipment to part-funding a school gardener until the application process closes on Friday 4 December 2015.

If you live in Streatham South, Streatham Wells, St Leonard’s or Thornton Ward we are asking for ideas about how to improve your streets to make your neighbourhood a better place to live. Improvements could include more trees, pedestrian crossings or changing road layouts – all ideas will be considered and innovation is encouraged!

DASL (Disability Advice Service Lambeth) is an independent Disabled People’s Organisation (DPO) set up in 2001, which works with, and on behalf of, people with all types of impairments and long-term health conditions. DASL also provide services to carers and older people.

DASL really want more people to join their membership; they offer individual, group and associate. Being a member helps to create a stronger voice in Lambeth for Disabled People.

DASL work from fully accessible premises. Car parking is available for Blue Badge holders. If you cannot come to see us we can arrange to visit you at home.
