Ethnic minority businesses in the UK are at the forefront of building an innovation-driven economy and MSDUK is delighted to support the growth of high-potential, technologydriven EMBs by providing them access to markets, investment and know-how through our Innovation Challenge programme.

About Innovation Challenge

Innovation Challenge is a business competition, sponsored by Cummins, that invites young and established Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) entrepreneurs, with an innovative product, solution or technology, to present their ideas to a panel of investors, buyers and industry experts with the view to access new markets, finance, mentoring and technical support to develop and scale their business.

Focus areas

We particularly invite ideas in the following focus areas:

• Healthcare

• Fintech

• Real-Estate

• Environment / Sustainability

• Technology: Artificial Intelligence, Augmented / Virtual Reality / IOT, Cyber Security

Application Process

MSDUK invite applicants to complete the application form below and return with any supporting documents by 28th July 2017, by email to: ervin@msduk.org.uk

Pitching Event

All eligible applications will be reviewed by a judging panel of industry experts and investors and the successful scoring applicants will be invited to the MSDUK 2017

Business Show on 21st Sept 2017 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground to present before a panel of investors, procurement professionals and industry experts.

Rail travel for up to a maximum of 2 guests per proposal will be provided, if required. Please complete the appropriate section of the application form

Competition Prize

EY is offering two scholarships to attend a one week residential Executive Business Programme at the Ivy League ‘Tuck Business School’ in Dartmouth, USA.

Each individual scholarship is worth USD $10k* and provides the winning entrepreneur an opportunity to attend one of the leading business schools in the world and master the skills to develop a high-performing business or opportunity to scale-up their business. Read more about various minority programs delivered at Tuck here. Accommodation will be provided* by the Tuck Business School and is included in prize. Travel to the USA is not included in the prize and the successful candidates will have to make their travel own arrangements.

Eligibility

The Innovation Challenge competition is open to people of BAME origin who are permanent UK residents or British Citizens.

The applicants must 18 or over to be eligible for the competition.

The deadline for submitting completed application forms is Friday 14th July 2017 at 5pm.
